Popup Choir is the best known ‘walk-in’ Choir in the Netherlands. Want to sing with your colleagues, friends or network? Great idea! Pop Up Choir brings harmony to your event. Everyone will sing along. Meet Maarten & Tijmen, creators of Pop Up Choir.
Who are Maarten & Tijmen?
What started in 2017 as a small group of people singing accessible songs together has grown into the most famous walk-in choir in the Netherlands. Thousands of people have already sang along. Highlights include David Bowies Heroes in a sold-out Paradiso and John Lennon’s Happy Xmas as a Dutch television special.
The recipe: Tijmen (guitarist) and Maarten (conductor) write a polyphonic version of a fantastic pop song. As an extra option, Maurits (videographer) can shoot a video and portray everyone beautifully.
What's This Experience About?
Every week, Maarten Bos & Tijmen de Koning teach a beautiful version of a song to a new group of people. After an evening of laughing and singing, the magnificent result is captured on video by Maurits de Koning. Everybody can join Popup Choir, no experience needed.
We let each group of people harmoniously sing together and provide the wow experience. Experience not necessary. Success guaranteed. With boundless energy, humor and a magical polyphony, we teach everyone a fantastic pop song in no time.

“Maarten and Tijmen are full of happy energy and know how to convey that. So come and sing together! Thanks to our enthusiastic conductor, we learn to sing a song within 2 hours, which is then recorded. You can see and hear that later on facebook and youtube. You don’t necessarily have to be able to sing well, nor be able to read from a page. Just enjoy participating. We sing hits in three parts/voices. Exciting and fun.”
