Walk? Bike? Great. Segway? Bus? Car? Forget it. Come float with the best of them all.
Meet Those Dam Boat Guys, the pioneers of intimate and (sometimes) irreverent boat experiences in Amsterdam. It’s not a scripted tour — It’s an interactive conversation and you’re invited.
What's it All About?
Jesse, Neil and Alec are three dudes from the west coast of North America who found themselves in Amsterdam. They realized that they were passionate about history, had good people skills, and loved the sound of their own voices, so becoming tour guides was the logical career choice. In 2015, they created an Amsterdam boat experience unlike others. How, you ask? By providing a service that they themselves would enjoy — intimate boat tours with genuine, flowing conversations. And this is how Those Dam Boat Guys made a splash! Want to float like a local? Don’t miss this.

“This boat tour with Captain Julian was amazing!!! The city of Amsterdam is beautiful to see from the canals and our tour guide Julian made the city come alive even more with the knowledge he shared. He was funny, friendly, and professional! A MUST do!!”

“If you want a picture perfect tour with information on architecture and such, go with one of those other companies that stack 50-something tourists into a boat and give you a scripted tour. The information you get from the guide is by interaction. Go for TDBG if you want something different.”
“If you’re looking for a more personal experience, then this is the one for you. We can’t wait to come back and set sail with them again, this time for longer because 90 minutes on a beautiful sunny day just wasn’t enough. We would’ve spent the entire day with Lee if we could have!”

Untamed. Easygoing. Hilarity guaranteed. Every hang out with Jesse, Neil and Alec starts with a hug and inevitably spirals to side-splitting laughter. Oh yeah, and booze. We met while working at an improv theatre years ago. All of them have that West Coast-cool mixed with Amsterdam savviness. What we love about them is their creative and unpretentious vibes, and that’s exactly what they bring to their boat tours. This is why we love having them on board.
