Tour Description

This isn’t a day of rushing from one attraction to the next.

It’s a day of slowing down.

Designed by Cara, a lifelong Amsterdammer, this private experience takes you beyond the city and into the beautiful Dutch countryside surrounding Amsterdam. A quieter, more authentic world of historic villages, waterways and windmills that most visitors never get to see.

These are places Cara genuinely loves. Places she’d happily show her own friends.

Together, you’ll explore the storybook village of De Rijp, step inside Museum Windmill Schermerhorn to discover how the Dutch shaped the land they live on, and enjoy a relaxed lunch in charming Edam.

Between stops, you’ll travel through wide-open landscapes, passing working windmills, little bridges, waterways and peaceful villages where locals still outnumber visitors.

At the windmill, you’ll see the wooden gears and centuries-old engineering up close—and discover that windmills were never just pretty additions to the Dutch landscape. They played a crucial role in managing water and creating the land you’re travelling through.

And don’t be surprised if, somewhere along the way, you find yourself standing somewhere beautiful with hardly another tourist in sight.

By the time you’re back in Amsterdam, you’ll have experienced a completely different side of the region.

Quieter. More personal. Wonderfully Dutch.
