Good food. Good people. More food. Stories. Laughter. Warmth. Friendship. Foooood.
Meet the Hungry Birds, the pioneers of food tours in Amsterdam. But it’s not just about food — it’s about the stories and people behind them. This is one gastronomic adventure that’ll leave your belly and heart bursting.
What's it All About?
Zosia and Esther-Hannah, the founders of Hungry Birds, are not one of those tweet-before-they-eat chicks. They’re food, people, and culture enthusiasts. Zosia and Esther-Hannah connected through a mutual friend in Amsterdam. After Zosia’s exhilarating scooter-ferried food tour in Vietnam, she decided to create Amsterdam’s first food-focused experience together with Esther-Hannah in 2013. They’ve been feeding thousands of hungry birds and making them feel at home in Amsterdam since — with their fabulous flock of “mother birds”. Whether you’re a meat lover or veg-head, get your beak on and feast. If you travel to eat, this is an absolute must.

“We have visited Amsterdam many times before, but this was our first food tour in the city. These ladies have done their research and they showed both their love for Amsterdam and their true interest in people. Highly recommend if you want to go off the beaten path!!”
“Do not miss your chance of an experience of a life time.. Explore Amsterdam in a unique and delicious way! Find out where the locals eat and the backstory of the foods of Amsterdam. It was our favorite thing we did in Amsterdam. Zosia was more than amazing! Thanks again!”

“Taking the time to explore Amsterdam and enjoy all of the food and beer requires a few days at the very least. However, by going on this amazing food tour you can cram a lot of food and culture into 4 hours. You can’t go wrong booking this tour while in Amsterdam. It surely will not disappoint.”

There’s a reason why they call themselves “mother birds”. Poland-born Zosia, Indonesian-Dutch Esther-Hannah, and their team of Hungry Birds, including fellow Singaporean, Charmaine have a way of making you feel cared for, safe, seen and well-fed. Food is a love language. They’re living examples of it. I know — I (Rachael) had the joy of being the first Hungry Bird they took under their wings. They taught me how to truly care for and inspire guests through their genuine hospitality and generosity. It’s exactly what they bring to the table every time. This is why we’re proud and happy to call the Hungry Birds our food family.
