Street art. A former gas factory turned night club. A headless bride. The tiniest hotel. Offbeat and off the beaten path.
Meet Pim, the creator of Einstein Bike Tour. With a mind swimming in mythology and folklore, mixed with contemporary and historical Amsterdam knowledge, and legs for his first love — cycling. No wonder, a bike tour with him leaves you curious and feeling more local by the minute and mile.
What's it All About?
Pim is not just a passionate cyclist — he’s a creator, a connector, and an endlessly curious learner — he majored in psychology, social geography, anthropology, sociology, philosophy, combined with a master’s degree in international development studies. He moved to Amsterdam from the South of the Netherlands in his youth, founded Tours and Travels Amsterdam and Greenboyz, a sustainability consultancy agency that helps local boat tours go green — he brings all his knowledge in art, architecture, socio-cultural and historical context, combined with his knack for storytelling and humour to Einstein Bike Tours. This is no ordinary bike tour. It’s an atomic exploration into Amsterdam’s many faces in uncommon spaces with a real local expert who’ll take your legs and mind for a spin.

“We LOVED our biking experience with Pim! We felt like we had a good friend who lived in Amsterdam and was showing us around and giving us an insider’s view. He was engaging, knowledgeable and truly enjoyed what he was doing. We experienced areas of Amsterdam we never would have explored on our own. Great time spent with a really nice group, and a great value. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this experience!”
“I learned so much! Pim is an excellent guide that not only explained much of the city and her history but gave insight into the Dutch way of thinking and living. Additionally, the group felt more like a bunch of friends hanging out than a touristy “this is this and this is that” experience. I hope to go again in the future.”
“Best bike tour, we have ever experienced. Well thought-out concept, so we got many impressions abut Amsterdam and Dutch culture. The tour was also unique because it showed us new places besides the crowded tourist areas we have never been to. My teenage daughter loved it and never got bored. Highly recommendable!”
Pim loves his city. It’s clear; the way his lips curl and eyes light up when he talks about running his tours — and in his own words, “There’s nothing more rewarding than to welcome people from all over the world and share with them a surprising and friendly insight into Dutch culture and identity. It’s like being on a permanent holiday in your own country. Who wouldn’t like that?’ I (Alexandra) met him at an Airbnb event for hosts. It’s no surprise he’s one of the top-rated hosts there. He’s just someone who genuinely loves giving visitors a real, personal and complete experience of his home — on wheels. This is why we love having him along for the ride.
